Answers to common questions about our outsourcing process, pricing, tech stack and security, and why clients trust us.
In-person meetings aren't required. We work online through Slack, Notion, email, or whatever channel you prefer, and only schedule an in-person meeting separately if it's genuinely needed.
We share real-time progress through Slack, Notion, email, or your preferred channel, with a summary sent at the end of each stage.
We deliver the full source code to you on project completion, with no license restrictions - you can hand off future maintenance to any developer or team.
Depending on the project, we go through a UI/UX design or planning stage before development, and you review the layout and design direction at that stage first.
We recommend contracting hosting and a domain yourself, while nekolab handles server setup and deployment directly.
We sign the contract during the Contract stage, right after the quote is finalized, and development starts once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid.
Small changes within the contracted scope get folded in through discussion; larger scope changes come with an additional quote. We recommend specifying requirements as much as possible before development starts.
Cancellation terms are worked out at contract signing. Before cancelling outright, adjusting requirements or scaling back in phases can often solve the underlying issue, so it's worth telling us what's going on first.
Projects under $1,000 are welcome to reach out - that range is a real option on our quote form, and we scope features to fit your budget.
Quote consultations and initial technical reviews are free, and we reply within 24 hours of your inquiry.
You can start with core features to fit your current budget and add more in later phases. Our Starter, Growth, and Enterprise pricing tiers are already built around this kind of phased growth.
You get 1 month of free post-launch support after delivery, and any ongoing maintenance contract after that is priced through consultation based on your system's scale and scope.
Tax invoice issuance is worked out when we sign the contract - just mention it when you reach out and we'll build it into the agreement.
Quotes are based on feature count, complexity, and estimated time, and include a feature list, timeline, and price for your tier. We can also scope features to fit a set budget.
Extra costs typically come from requirement changes beyond the contracted scope, hosting/domain (contracted separately), or maintenance after the 1-month free support period ends.
You pay a 50% deposit after the contract is signed to start development, then settle the remaining 50% balance once delivery is complete.
Platforms like WordPress or Cafe24 only let you customize within set boundaries, while custom development lets you build exactly what you need. We help you figure out which fits your project during consultation.
Collecting publicly available web data is legal, but scraping private data behind a login, personal information, or copyrighted content without permission can raise issues. nekolab only builds within legally sound boundaries.
We secure personal data with role-based access control and a JWT-based login system, and scope data collection to the minimum necessary at the design stage.
We build servers on cloud infrastructure like AWS with a Docker-based deployment setup, so migrating or scaling later stays flexible.
Adding features to an existing site is possible, but we review the codebase and tech stack first to give you an accurate scope and timeline.
We provide a responsive design optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile by default, and it's included in every pricing tier across our services.
Multilingual support is possible - the nekolab site itself runs in Korean and English, giving us real production experience with this. Translation and localization copy may be scoped separately depending on the project.
You can reach out even if you're not sure exactly where AI fits. We suggest AI ideas during the planning stage without being asked.
Project information is documented across multiple channels like Slack and Notion, so it stays accessible even if one channel is temporarily slow, and we commit to a 24-hour reply.
There are private projects not shown in the portfolio, mostly due to NDAs with clients. For those, we can still share a general overview and tech stack within what the agreement allows.
The same team that handles planning and development sees your project through directly, so requirements do not get lost in translation, and we bring in a professional designer for projects that need design.
You can check out live services on our Portfolio page, and we'll share additional references within what NDAs allow if you ask when you reach out.
